Disciple of God Part One and Two

The word Disciple in Greek is transliterated mathetes (literally, the learning one) and is derived from the verb manthano which means “to learn”. It means “one who learns instruction from another‟, or a disciple is likened to an apprentice who learns from his master tradesman. Thus, a disciple is a person that not only gains knowledge from the teacher but also acts upon it. A disciple follows and a disciple learns from the Teacher. The disciple never replaces the one true Teacher, or takes the role of the teacher. Jesus remains our Teacher and our Lord.

Minister of Salt and Light

So often when we hear the word ‘minister’ it conjures up images of a person in some or other clothing of the clergy, or who carries a fancy title in the church. The truth is, the concept of a minister has become distorted for hundreds of years. We are all called to administer the Gospel as ministers of the Kingdom. We are all called to be active in the Kingdom of God, fulfilling the Great Commission. We are all called to be disciples of God, and we all have a calling and have been empowered with gifts and abilities to establish the Kingdom of God in the hearts of man. We are all, and not a few, called to ‘minister’ in accordance to the Great Commission, within various functions as the royal priesthood.

Evangelism

Evangelism has been discussed over and over, yet it still seems many Christians are not engaging in evangelising. It seems some think they are not called to evangelise, or not equipped or not trained.  The truth is, if we follow Jesus, then we are called to evangelise, which is nothing more than telling someone about Jesus. From the outset, evangelism is the work and duty of EVERY believer, thus any disciple of the Lord. In Christianity, you can say evangelism is the commitment to or act of publicly preaching (ministry) of the Gospel with the intention of spreading the message and teachings of Jesus Christ.

Part One and Two: Embracing the Kingdom’s Blueprint

This volume of work takes a much deeper look at what it means to be a disciple of the living Lord. All disciples are called to be active in God's Kingdom, and all of them are called to fulfil the Great Commission of Matthew 28

Emmaus Walk with Jesus

There is a road we have to walk – it is our spiritual journey through life. It is our Emmaus walk where we become aware of God’s Presence and we become aware of God’s indwelling Spirit within us. The goal of our spiritual journey is to realise God is real, that God is alive and God has always been present with man just as Jesus was present with those who walked to Emmaus. Secondly, we then need to endure this journey and overcome to the glory of the Lord.  The world is full of stories of Jesus, and the world is also full is lies and deception. We can only know the truth when we meet the Truth.

The Trinity and the Baptism

This volume of work explores and unravels the mystery of the Trinity and the debates surrounding the baptism in Spirit and water.  There are doctrines that have been misunderstood, while there are doctrines that are blatantly deceiving and confusing. Such doctrines apply to both the Trinity and the baptisms. As a disciple, it is of great importance to understand these concepts and to abide by the truth.

Overview of God’s Word: The True North of our Faith

The Bible is an epic masterpiece. There is a continuous flow to the Bible, and it does flow like a story. It is God’s story, told through numerous characters, events, adventures, trials, tribulations, and situations. There is nothing grander or more splendid than God’s story! This book is not a comprehensive study of the Bible, therefore, it is not a blow-by-blow account of every book and every story. Rather, it is a sweeping glance at what the Bible offers. We can only know the heart of God, who God truly is and understand His commandments, His teachings, His truths and values when we study and know the Word

On Christ’s Mission: Overturning the World Volume One and Two

When Jesus departed to be with His eternal Father, He gave the church (the ecclesia) a clear mission statement in Matthew 28, which speaks of the Great Commission. And what is the Great Commission, therefore, the mission? Go and make disciples so that the world may be told of Jesus and, therefore, be saved.  It doesn’t happen automatically. It will take a concerted and decisive effort of the Bride of God.
