My Story
Ps Riaan Engelbrecht is the founder of Avishua Ministries and vice president of Lighthouse Ministries.
His calling in the ministry deals primarily with the prophetic, but he also has a passion to teach the Truth of the Lord Jesus and His Kingdom for only the Truth of the Lord sets us free (John 8:32).
Over the years he has endeavored to empower the children of God to be true disciples, thus be the Church, by being active in their calling to the glory of the Lord.
He is also a seasoned journalist.
colossians 1
9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; 12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
word from the author
I should stress that as a servant of the Lord peddling the word for profit is certainly not my goal or the goal of Avishua Ministries. Anyone who knows what the ministry stands for shall know that as Paul had a deep concern for the state of the church, I and the ministry harbour such a deep concern. The volumes of work are not a product of distorted motives, driven by selfish desires, but it is a journey of speaking God’s heart and expressing His will in our perilous times of great dangers, toil, suffering, deceptions, and perils. Jeremiah 20 says, “9 Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, nor speak anymore in His name. But His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, and I could not.” Similarly, I cannot hold back what God has placed on my heart, and for all followers of Christ, His Word should burn deep in our spirit and soul. We must burn for Christ, consumed by His love and consumed by a desire and passion to see the lost, the broken, the forgotten, the mistreated, the deceived, and the trampled upon find and know Christ.
